A graduate from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, I embarked on a journey marked by a passion for understanding complex systems and a knack for problem-solving. My tenure as a weapons systems engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat saw me meticulously ensuring the compatibility of cables and system components for the missile tubes on the U.S. Navy’s cutting-edge COLUMBIA class nuclear submarines. This role not only honed my engineering skills but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the intricacies of data analysis in real-world applications. In addition, it sharpened my ability to be extremely detail-oriented in a high-pressure environment with very high stakes.
Following my engineering stint, I transitioned back into the realm of education where I already had more than ten years of experience. This allowed me to leverage my strong math background, as well as my passion for teaching and encouraging students interested in STEM (especially at a time when students were struggling the most due to Covid lockdowns) to embark on a fulfilling career as a professional private tutor. Over the past 14 years, I've had the privilege of guiding countless students through the complexities of various mathematical and science subjects, ranging from pre-algebra to differential equations and AP physics. My ability to explain difficult concepts by simplifying them into basic foundational skills has been instrumental in helping students grasp challenging topics and achieve academic success.
In addition to my extensive tutoring experience, I recently augmented my skill set by earning the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate. This certification not only underscored my commitment to continuous learning but also equipped me with the tools and techniques necessary to thrive in the dynamic field of data analytics.
